Judy Ann Michael is a freelance B2B writer & copywriter

I enjoy what I do because I get to write AND make leaders more successful.

I am a former corporate director who uses my passion for writing to create business documents that inform and sell.

When’s the last time someone asked you tough questions?

The reason I am successful is because I am not afraid to ask business leaders hard questions.

Why? Because it makes them think about BIG issues that challenge them to do better.

The #1 question I ask is:

What keeps your clients awake at night?

Once they understand that, we can build a marketing strategy with documents that highlight solutions and expertise.

My credentials.

I’ve been a consultant with two large consulting firms, CSC Consulting and Protiviti.

My projects included solutions for Fortune 100 clients like UPS, TMobile, AT&T, Expedia, Target, DuraFlame, Vision Service Plan, and more. I also consulted at more than 100 hospitals and clinics nationwide.

I specialized in requirements planning for large IT projects and streamlining processes and procedures. I helped solve big problems that saved large companies lots of money.

To achieve all that, I learned to write and speak to executives. I’ve designed executive executive presentations that sold them on big projects. I was once given 4 hours to design a sales presentation for a Fortune 100 client using 11 post it notes.

Over the last 25 years, I have written sales proposals, user manuals, employee policies, accounting audit procedures, IT software requirements, RFP responses, marketing brochures, executive emails, business strategies and initiatives, USPs, product features and benefits, newsletters, college course curriculum, company announcements, major award submissions, market research reports, non-fiction books, VC pitch decks, and random staff announcements.

That’s how I learned to write, because I sat down and wrote big impact documents. That’s why I am not afraid to ask big questions. I need to know what I’m writing about and who my audience is.

My education and certifications.

BS in Business, Accounting Major, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN

MBA, Marketing Major, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN

Agile Scrum Master and Product Manager

AWAI Verified;  Dan Kennedy Certified Info-Marketer

My ideal client.

I like to work with smart people…

Who set reasonable timelines and expectations…

Understand what “scope creep” is, but don’t practice it…

Are willing to pay for quality writing…

Will collaborate by sharing their vision and be open to ideas…

And pay on time.

More about me.

I’m part creative, part project manager, a big thinker, and like to simplify complex topics into simple explanations.

I know how to use big works like “leverage” and “synergistic”, but I believe that we don’t have to use them in every business document.

Simple words, often told in a story, will get the job done no matter what level your audience is inside an organization.

I am born and bred in the Midwest. I value hard work and honor time commitments. I ask my clients to respect my time and effort as I respect theirs.

I enjoy public speaking. If you need to interview me, I am happy to do so. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and learning from you as well.

My 75 pound poodle, Sir Beckett, is the most important being in my life. My family and friends understand and know that I love them too.

And if you’ve read this far, I will tell you that I am an Aquarian, with a Leo Moon and Virgo rising, and everything I said above will make sense.
